Handle it by the base or sturdiest section rather than delicate extremities, and display it on a stable surface away from direct sunlight and sudden changes in temperature.
As a glazed piece, the glaze seals the surface so it resists dust and stains well. Dust regularly with a soft, dry brush; for occasional deeper cleaning, wipe gently with a cloth lightly dampened in lukewarm water with a drop of neutral soap, then dry at once. Never use abrasive cleaners or a dishwasher.
